We consider that a small chapter is not enough to cover history of France and travel opportunities. We may extend reports in our future web pages. Our reference in Cote D’Azur is only because is related with our web pages and remains always the Mekka of Yachting. The nearly tropical climate, the azure waters, the indigo sky attract yachting lovers on every vacation and at every holiday, summer, Easter, Christmas, Carnival, All Saints' Days! The white and hot-pinked colored villas with iron balconies, edging the blue horizon, the evening air perfumed with jasmine and mimosa, the parasol pines that silhouette against sunsets of ripe apricot and gold. Côte d'Azur seems to epitomize happiness, a state of being the world pursues with a vengeance and shimmer in her golden charm and elegance.

Côte d'Azur (or Azure Coast) history starts when ancient Greeks moved eastward from Marseille to market their goods to the natives. From the 18th-century English aristocrats who claimed it as one vast spa to the 19th-century Russian nobles who transformed Nice into a tropical St. Petersburg to the 20th-century American tycoons who cast themselves as romantic sheiks, the beckoning coast became a blank slate for their whims. Like the modern vacationers who followed, they all left their mark; villas, shrines, temples all to the sensual pleasures of the sun and sultry sea breezes. Artists, too, made the Côte d'Azur their own, as museum lovers who have studied the sunny legacy of Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, and Chagall will attest. Today's visitors can enjoy all of it. Along with the Riviera's points of interest, the animated St-Tropez, the Belle Epoque aura of Cannes, the towns made famous by Picasso-Antibes, Vallauris, Mougins; the urban charms of Nice; and several spots where the per-capita population of billionaires must be among the highest on the planet: Cap d'Antibes, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and Monaco. The beauty of the Côte d'Azur coastline captures glamour. Beyond this, hidden in the hills, in low-lying mountains, nature lovers may discover the arriére-pays, the idyllic backcountry. Isolated, as the waterfront resorts are in the swim. Medieval stone villages on rocky hills, dozens of hill towns virtually untouched, are the remark of history in a modern life. Respect in tradition is obvious in daily routine. The slowly savored pastis (the anise-and-licorice-flavored spirit mixed slowly with water), the farmers' market (as if the ocean were a hundred miles away) is only a hint. A cruise from St-Tropez to the Italian Riviera is a seductive pleasure for yacht owners and charterers world wide, with great opportunities for excursions ashore.

Eastern Cote d’Azur St.Tropez Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco , St.Tropez, the city of Brigitte Bardot in a seductive light, as Signac has discovered, marked with its glamorous beaches, sophisticated resorts, beach discos and natural beauty stretching beyond the mountains to serene little towns.

Visit the extraordinaire Musee de l’Annonciade to admire works of Signac, Matise, Vuillard, Braque, Signard. Walk in the old Port, the quartier de la Ponche, have a coffee in the meeting point of the town, Le Gorille, taste the house bourride at Lei Mouscardins, or specialties in famous Moorea, on the cosmopolitan beach lie as a gold ribbon under your eyes. Spend your time for a golf experience in Golfe Azur. Visit hilltop villages by car, such Ramatuelle, through a route with vineyards, woods, Mediterranean landscapes and don’t miss the resorts of Frejus, St.Raphael and the esterel resorts.

Cannes, Antibes, Villefranche, Menton are included in your itinerary because they consist the centre of the Cote d’Azur. Cap Ferrat,Cap Martin are the tropical peninsulas that will amaze you with their fabulous villas, color and tranquility even in a crowded scenery; the dreamland of azure waters and indigo sky; white villas with balustrades contrasting the blue horizon. Music sounds that never end, chic mortals and VIP all in one, a happy atmosphere, a modern dream. Narrow alleys into the towns, picturesque buildings, smiley persons, VIP boutiques, glamorous restaurants and bars, yacht designers stores. Even beyond these towns, an excursion by car will reveal amazing Mougins, where Picasso spent his last years, St.Paul, Vence, Eze and other magnetic villages that remind more of a resort. The view of the blue sea and Alps in snow is a picture to remember for a life.

Visit Palais Des Festivals in Nice, the old town neighborhood Le Suquet, the Musee de la Castre, the Carlton Inter-Continental built in 1912 with the famous restaurant La Belle Otero next to the 7th floor casino, La Croisette, the epitome of the Cote d’Azur.

Find peace in Iles de Lerins before you visit old port in Cannes. Fort Royal built by Richelieu in the 18th century is laid in Ile Ste-Marguerite. Visit Musee de la Mer with a fabulous collection of amphorae and potery from ancient shipwrecks. Ile St-Honorat with large chapels and thick forests of pine trees is a stop to buy herb liquer called Lerina. Your feelings in the monastery will be unique, as if you travel through time in the past.

In Antibes you may anchor in Port Vauban viewing same time Fort Carre and Alps. Between the old and modern city you have to visit the Eglise de l’Immaculee, the Chateau Grimaldi, the Musee Picasso. In Ports of Call to berth we will include Villefranche if possible, the most picturesque Mediterranean port of Cote d’Azur.

Monaco and its resorts will be an experience that all should taste. Beaulieu resort sheltered between the Cap Ferrat and Cap Roux, was the pet town of 19th century society such Empress Eugenie, Prince of Wales and Russian nobles. Roquebrune Cap Martin is an isolated exclusive and great area to find out. Chateau Feodal lies above the old town. Walk in Le Corbusier to see the glorious flora of Mediterranean.

Menton is a famous resort to visit in baroque style with modern amenities, Casino du Soleil, plaza Parvis St-Michel in grey and white stones, beautiful marina. It is the more alluring for its modesty yet a patchwork of influence from Morocco, Greece, Spain and Corsica.
